Political science 129 has sparked a fire in me of interest. I am so interested in the politics and government media relations in international affairs as a result of this class. I find the whole concept of different evolutions of media affecting legal decisions to be extremely interesting for me. and i could not be any happier with my decision to pursue a political science major

blog 47

I found this cartoon extremely humorous because it displays the satire of the army. Everyone knows the troops can be helped more by an equipment boost or upgrade but instead, the government officials decide to save face with the media and instead just visit soldiers in an attempted photo shot.

blog 46

It is amazing how much worldwide attention the American media can put on one single person. Think about how much the media has fed into the crazy ego of a man like bin laden. If we just decide to leave him alone for a little bit we can hopefully jog his memory and get him to poke his head out of his sand dune

blog 45

I continue thinking about who i should vote for in the next election. My mind still tells me that hillary clinton is a crazy B*tch and a vote for her is a vote for the armaggeddon. I think Rudy Giuliani is a great candidate because he knows exactly what he is doing and will have New York's favor. Regardless of my vote i hope he wins, because Bill Clinton was terrible and i can only imagine the horror from hillary.

blog 44

Politics is really interesting. It is amazing how fast the American Government has evolved from just a newfound couple colonies, into the most powerful nation to have ever existed. Our technology makes up strong, our army, makes us a force to be reckoned with in war, and our media is the leader of the world and i think that helps us keep the mindset of the world on the same line as us

blog 42

i was amazed when i found out that the highest rates of religious faith, actually takes place in more poverty filled areas. What this says to me is that as people become more evolved and find themselves more reliant on technology, they find themselves less is need of finding a higher meaning to life

blog 43

it makes me sick that terrorist like this are still lose and we have not caught them yet. I don't understand how certain people can see a killer like this as a hero or a maurder. This man is a murderer and that's this animal should ever be remembered for

blog 41

after reviewing and re-reading pretty much all my blogs, i have come to a conclusion that the overall theme of my blogs is war. I think war despite its negative connotations can actually play a positive role on society in terms of economic and financial standpoints

blog 40

what type of idiot honestly believes that there is no current war on terror. Oh wait, that would be prime minister tony blair who has publicly stated that he believes there is no real war on terror

blog 38 re-do

I think that technology has a huge role as to what influences our opinion. The more advanced technology gets, the easier it will be for us as humans to expose flaws belonging to anybody in the public eye. To me, that really does not sound fair, but i guess it will continue regardless of how i feel about it

blog 39

I hate going online and hearing that there are protests against the war on terror. These idiots talk about why we can't see any results from the war on terror and i say to that the fact we dont have any results is a result itself. if we had terrorist attacks all the time, then we can say there are no results, but the fact that people are now safe=results

blog 38

blog 37

I hope we end up catching Usama Bin Laden. It is terrible to think that one man was solely responsible for so much tragedy. This man is responsible for the deaths of around 30,000 people and for some reason he is still running around free today

blog 36

I think it is amazing how comical our media can be when it comes to the death of innocent americans in Iraq. Like i just dont understand the humor in somebody else's death, especially someone who is trying to protect you from certain evils of the world

blog 35

I completely forgot all about Saddam Hussein. I wonder where he is now. Did American torturist kill him? Did the government give him the electric chair. I do not remember what became of him. And what happened in Iraq. Who is in charge now?...Well after actually looking it up, apparently he was hung in his own countryAdd Image

So i just found out that barry bonds is going to be indicted for steroids and lying to a jury. If he is found for perjury and charged with jail time i will be sooo excited. I hate barry bonds because he is single handedly ruining one of america's favorite past times.

blog 33

I was thinking about who i plan on voting for in the first election im legally allowed to participate in. I know i refuse to vote for clinton because i think her judgement is always pretty lousy. I think in the end i will vote for Rudy Giuliani because i think he is the most qualified to become the next president of the United states

blog 32

After everything I've talked about, i still had not mentioned the issue of race when it comes to government. I found this cartoon and found it interesting in that it is saying American does not care for any country that is not mainly white

blog 31

My family was thinking about going to canada for the break. For some reason i immediately appealed and found myself wondering why i did. I just know canada as a place that a lot of people in the US hate and somewhere that is portrayed in the media as lazy and ungrateful. I changed my answer to my parents and will decide for myself whether i enjoy an area without listening to the national attended belief

blog 30

i wonder if the majority of people believe that government plays a role at least once in their everyday lives. If i had to answer without thinking about it i would say it does because without government and law i would not be restricted in so many areas of my life as doing something i truly want to do

blog 29

I wonder why it is instinctive in humans to judge. The idea of an occupation that is extremely wealthy and seen as successful is merely just an operation and personal opinion of one soul in the court of law deciding the fate of someone other then himself. This does not sound very fair to me in the slightest

blog 28

I think it is amazing how human beings have evolved so far into knowledge that we are now able to control the operations, actions, and thoughts of many by writing a with some ink on a piece of paper stating that an action is legal or illegal and people will be forced to follow what it says no matter what their opinion is

blog 27

as i mentioned in my last blog, stem cell research is a waste of time when we are debating it against an issue such as war. War drives the economy and we can worry about research when it is over

blog 26

I guess in the long run putting money towards stem cell research will help cure thousands of diseases. But right now i do not understand why we are even considering investing as much into the protection of American life as we are into the CONCEPT or IDEA of stem cells.

blog 25

I wonder how people will view the war on terror. I know from my personal opinion that today people think the vietnam war was an extremely bad idea. I wonder if people will feel the same way in regards to the war on terror and the focus on Iraq

blog 24

i wonder as to when church and state will actually be seperated. The fact that on the dollar bill it mentions god is a sign to everyone believing other then god, that they are wrong. Why do people have to swear on the bible if they are in court. The whole idea just does not make sense to me

blog 23

Over and over i see cartoon after cartoon designed to give a negative image of our American president. i wonder why so many people dislike him when all the man is trying to do is protect those same people that despise him

blog 22

it is amazing to me when i turn on the television and have to see Christmas marketing on every single channel. It is really a frusturating sight being that i am jewish and in no way shape or form can relate myself to the media frenzy that is created as a result of the economic boom that is aspired every year to marketing religion

blog 21

This cartoon is extremely funny in that it pokes fun at the notion that All americans personally feel like we have so few problems, when in reality we are so much better off then all the other countries

blog 20

I think it is amazing that despite media coverage on the islam, muslim, middle east, that the average person still does not know the main cultural differences between Jews, and Muslims. It repulsed me to read an article in a magazine that states that most people do not know the difference

blog 19

After going through cartoon after cartoon, i finally stopped at this one and wondered what have we come to. When the most powerful man on the face of the earth, (George Bush) is mocked and dismayed by his own nation. I think America should come to a conclusion before announcing a leader that not everybody agrees on

blog 18

I think this photo is just another way of stating the obvious. Which is as just regular people we truly do not know anything ourselves. We just get what is given to us in clumped of forms of information directly from the opinionated minds of the media. It is so easy in today's society to use technology in order to doctor information or photos.

blog 17

Political science is such an interesting topic. I feel honored to get to understand the deep dark truths of our nation and many other nations. I'm really happy i decided to change my major because i love the focus on certain nations rather then a focus on numbers or words. I am actually interested in what i'm learning and that is really important if i want to be successful at anything i do.

blog 16

Sometimes i think that it is a little unfair as to how we and the media portray president bush. I know in the past i have put quite a bashing on our president, but deep down i don't think George W Bush is as stupid and beligerent as mostly everyone in America assumes

blog 15

I heard from a friend earlier this week that next year all americans driving a motorized vehicle will be required to use a hands free device if they plan on driving and using their cell phone at the same time. I am curious as to how certain people managed to pass this bill and make it a law. I do not understand the dangers in driving and using a cell phone. People can drive with one hand and talk with the other. It's that simple, i do not want to have to buy something and have to be able to afford to talk on my cell phone when i'm in the car. Its totally messed up

blog 14

I am curious as to whether or not children's political beliefs in the future are more inclined to influenced by their parents political beliefs or by the way the media portrays the information to the child. I know at such a young age, i did not really focus on politics, but i do remember thinking that whatever was good for israel was good for me. I guess in some ways i was not influenced by the media and in other ways i was. I think it is all a matter of opinion.

blog 13

I thought the guest lecturer that came to class was really cool. I forgot his name but he talked about the middle east. I am very opinionated and after hearing him speak i actually felt more inclined to do something in order to back my religiously connected land of israel. He was a very moving and like i have mentioned in pretty much all my blogs, i agree with him that our media relations with the world are extremely messed up.

blog 12

In a past blog i discussed one of my favorite shows which is the sopranos. Now i want to talk about my other favorite show, weeds. In the show the 10 year old son discusses what should actually be considered a drug. He uses the argument that weed is less of a drug then alcohol but because alcohol is legal, weed is viewed in the public's eye as something far worse while in truth it is actually less dangerous. I just think it is screwed up how much the human mind can be influenced by the judgement of few on the media.

blog 11

I think its kind of weird seeing Arnold Schwarzenneger in all these movies. The guy at the front post of being california's leader. It is just really unsatisfying to know that a man who on television i have seen beating up predator, medal robots from the future, and sinbad in a sinister costume, is actually our leader. This knucklehead is who is supposed to represent our state to the rest of the country.

blog 10

This may not have much to do with what we are actually learning in our political science and religion/media based class but i'm really excited because as a result of having learned so much and enjoying my time in political science 129, i have decided to switch my major from economics to political science. i have just found all the talk on media relations, and public law policy so interesting and i am hoping that i can make a future out of this. I just wanted to say i am really happy that i decided to take this class because what i am learning will influence my future a lot

blog 9

I'm a big fan of HBO's original series the Sopranos, and i got to thinking, the Sopranos family is just like the Government. At the top we have our big boss president bush. Then we have his captains, vice president cheney, ms. condalesa Rice, and all his other goons. It's funny because just like a mafia family, the American government goes to war just like them with other nations, or "families."

blog 8

I know its not a very historically educated quote, but wu tang clan uses the phrase "C.R.E.A.M." which means cash rules everything around me. That statement may be true in my life, but it is also true in how this country is run. Underneath everything there is a financial reason as to why something happens the way it does. It happens everyday that we see our country out at war for reasons that only a few men actually get to know. I just think the entire system is flawed and based on false idols.

blog 7

Is it not a crazy thought that these are weapons that belong to our "nations swarn enemy". I think it is unbelievable that America is responsible for supplying Osama Bin Laden and the taliban terrorist with these weapons. If it wasn't for America trying to win wars, the greatest historical tragedy, (9/11) would have never taken place.

blog 6

Once again i bring about another obvious flaw in our nations view on war. The political strategy is obviously not matching our nations military strategy. Personally, i may sound stupid here, but SHOULDNT A POLITICAL STRATEGY GO ALONG WITH A MILITARY STRATEGY IN ORDER TO CONDUCT A WAR! its crazy to think how messed our nations political system is internally

blog 5

After taking a look at this cartoon, i noticed that some people have the mindset that they can make more money by going to the army then by going and getting a good education. I guess if you have no other choice it's a good option. In my opinion thats crazy because any educated life is better then risking your life in a pointless war

Blog 4

I saw this cartoon and it got me thinking how messed up the concept of holy war is. Every person on earth has their own opinion, and these so called holy wars are nothing more then 2 specific people's opinion. In my opinion they are in sole responsibility for every human death that results from this war

blog 3

In class we're learning about middle east relations. I believe that the fact that as humans, we discuss strife and fighting so much, that it merely just escalates situation. I believe if certain aspects of our lives in some countries was so not so heavily publicized there would be a lot less long-term wars between certain nations and certain different traditional aspects of the world

blog 2

I think sometimes the world is really just messed up. I read the news everyday and its always just like this country attacks this country. It's never anything positive about different nations coming together. I think the media only focuses on some aspects of the news and i think in the future there should be some form of group that comes together to help stop this.
